Millions of years ago, we began this journey.
We pulled ourselves up from the mud and misery of subsistence.
Thousands of generations suffered in ignorance and deprivation.
Their lives were the foundation for everything we would ever build.
Each generation would pave the road just a little bit further.
Every life was a tiny step on an infinite path.
We thought that we had all of eternity to get there.
We thought that it was only a matter of time.
But we were wrong.
We had taken too much for granted.
Now we are lost and headed for annihilation.
The mother-ship is failing.
The mother-ship is dying.
We have abused its resources and it can no longer function.
We have allowed it to become worn and in disrepair.
The mother ship is lost.
Our lifeboat drifts on an eternal ocean and rescue is impossible to see.
