At some point you have to say that’s enough. Most of the time we’re caught up in a constant process of ending. We’re working inexorably towards some final demise, yet we procrastinate as much as possible on our way to this ultimate destination. How much is enough and when is it too much? The most important part of any piece of art is the point at which it stops being created. It’s not really anything until someone steps away from it and declares “no more!” How do you decide to stop? What is the means for determining that the necessary elements have been put into place to allow any creation to then stand on its own and communicate? Perhaps there are ways of creating that are perpetual and where the art is always emerging. That sounds like someone’s idea of heaven. Down here, we still tend to put the punctuation in and sign our names. So I say this one is now completed.
