Wash the stains down the drain. Gurgling dirt clogs the pipes as you frantically jerk the plunger. Sucking up and down in the hopes that the evidence will swirl away into some septic hiding place no one will ever notice, the effort makes you sweat more than you expected. It’s hard work, denying the truth, but you don’t mind pouring out a few more lies into the gutter. The rains will disperse it enough that no one will notice where it went until some cancer creeps out from under the mildew rotted floorboards.
