Life has a way of making us feel like the "wolf" is at the door more often than we'd like to admit. Even though we've (at least temporarily) evolved beyond the dangers of the jungles, forests and savannas of our ancestors, we can never truly escape the feeling that there's something waiting to get us the moment we let down our guard. We build our defenses and comfort ourselves with thoughts of the securities we have around us, yet we still live with a dull anxiety in the pit of our stomachs. We know it's out there, teeth bared and drooling. We know it will get us one day. We know it's just a matter of time.
