This piece was inspired by a trip with some friends to an isolated mountain cabin just north of the tiny community of Gold Bridge, British Columbia. The trip occurred over 4 days beginning on July 1st, 2010. During our stay at the cabin, video and audio recordings where captured which became raw material for a video and soundtrack. The soundtrack features field sound recordings of various guns being fired as well as a bath tub fountain used to cool beer, the banging and stretching hinges of the kitchen screen door and sawing of fire wood. In some respects, this piece is a response to certain recent world events which have made it increasingly difficult to see any kind of future for humanity and this planet. Here, the desire expressed is to "get away" with the internal irony being the awareness that there is no place to go. Thanks to: Phil (for the guns), Darren (for the invitation to the cabin) and Vanessa (for finding some old dinde).
