How do you feel Laying in the cold cold ground How do you feel You never make a sound I could have helped you But I had better things to do How do you feel Laying in the cold cold ground I didn't mean to leave you crying I knew that you were dying How do you feel How do you feel You never make a sound The leaves have covered up the sin The dust blows the sorrow in How do you feel How do you feel Laying in the cold cold ground How do you feel You never make a sound The vines entwine around your spine The memories all fade with time How do you feel How do you feel How do you feel How do you feel How do you feel

Where have you gone You've been gone so long Long ago we lost the road We left the world behind We travelled so we'd find A place to rest our heavy load We had a gift of time We lived a life of crime No prison could be our abode For all the time we spent This place was heaven sent But now I wander it alone

about

Who is the ghost in the garden? It could be any number of lost souls. Cast your mind into the past and start pulling in the net. What did you catch? A forgotten enemy? A lost love? A wrong yet to be righted? A neglected friend? An ancestor you never knew? These are the "ghosts" growing in our "garden". They are the weeds entangling our roots. They are the vines entwined around out stalks. Left unattended, they can choke out the growth we desire, replacing it with a wild snarl of unwanted foliage. Therefore, be a thoughtful gardener. Be vigilant in your upkeep. Attend to your garden and watch it grow.

released December 10, 2010

Recorded at Blood 'n' Tongue, Vancouver, BC, November 04 to 12, 2010.
Conceived and executed by Stephen Ugo Rosin.

For this collection, certain constraints were put in place in order to help focus on the themes being explored. Fundamentally, the pieces for this set needed to have as natural and "organic" a sound as possible. To this end, only "real" acoustic instruments and sound sources were used. Wherever possible, this involved actual, physical instruments and field recordings of natural sound. Where necessary, high quality sampled acoustic instruments have been used. In the later case, great care was taken to ensure as natural a sound as possible. In terms of effects and production, these were limited to EQ, light compression, panning modulation and reverb. All other FX were deemed too artificial. Electronic and mechanical sounds have been avoided as much as possible except for some incidental "leakage" which occurred during some field recordings. These have been retained as they were part of the natural environment being recorded at the time.

The concept of "The Ghost" first appeared on the "Quote" album in 2009.

In this first incarnation, The Ghost was interpreted to be a "guest" musician accompanying the rest of the "band". For this album, it was essential to include at least one "spooky" sound element to represent the presence of The Ghost.

From this followed the Haunted Ghosts album.

This expanded the roll of The Ghost to the degree that this particular album could be viewed as his "solo" album. The concept there was to create a collection of songs performed by ghosts for ghosts.

For his third appearance, The Ghost is more of a specter lurking in the background than an actual participant. The Ghost in this case is the subject of the compositions rather than the performer.
