THE SOGGY SOUND SYSTEM

Deep in the depths of some stagnant swamp, there is a sound coming up from the ground. There’s a bass that sounds like it’s buried under a million years of peat bog muck, there are rhythms overgrown with dubbed out reverb blasts and twisting echoes like vines strangling dead trees. The air is thick with the stink of decay and strange creatures linger in dark, wet hovels waiting to take a piece of you the first chance they get. There’s voodoo happening in that fog and strange spells being cast. All manner of sins are poking up from the mud and you’ll get snagged real good if you don’t watch your step. Nothing decent ever came out of this dank, forsaken pit and generally nothing ever leaves except the few strong enough to crawl their way out so they can tell the tales that send folks skin crawling.

But that’s no reason not to enjoy a glass of something spirited with a friend because this music was made to share with friends and even some enemies (provided the liquor is strong enough). We’ve included a handy set of recipes for some suitable cocktails with just the right twist for a soggy bottom soirée. And don’t be shy about catching some fire to a substantial spliff or two because you’ll want to be altered as many ways as you can to fully enjoy this cocktail of swamp dub swingers.
